Bridge Kitchen Faucet Fit: Holes, Reach and Side Spray

ClassificationFaucet Guide 18516

Updated October 21, 2026 · WOWOW

A bridge kitchen faucet links the hot and cold controls to a central spout with a visible connecting section. The design can suit a traditional or contemporary kitchen, but the installation needs to match the sink. This WOWOW checklist focuses on hole spacing, reach and accessory placement before you choose a bridge faucet.

Draw the existing hole layout

Record the number of holes, their diameters and the distances between their centers. Check beneath the sink for holes concealed by an existing plate. Note which positions are occupied by handles, a separate sprayer or a soap dispenser.

Compare this sketch with the exact model’s mounting drawing. Do not assume that every bridge faucet uses the same spacing or number of holes. The overall width of the visible bridge is not a substitute for the specified mounting-center distance.

Check the mounting surface and access below it

Confirm the permitted deck thickness and the space available for mounting hardware. Sink rims, deep bowls and cabinet framing can interfere with access underneath. The mounting components must seat as instructed; a fastener that feels tight is not proof that the assembly is correctly supported.

If the sink deck moves during normal operation, identify whether the faucet mounting or the sink itself needs attention. Do not solve a support problem by adding an improvised spacer or overtightening the hardware. Consult the installation requirements for both the sink and faucet.

Place the spout over the working part of the bowl

Read the drawing’s outlet height and horizontal reach separately from overall faucet height. Estimate where water will enter the bowl, and consider the cookware you wash most often. A decorative outline is only useful if the docked spout serves the sink comfortably.

Check any stated swivel range against nearby objects. Include window handles, a drying rack and tall accessories. Operate the window and cabinet doors during the planning check so that an occasional movement does not become a surprise after installation.

Plan both handle movement and a side spray

Two handles need enough working room for a comfortable grip and the documented opening movement. Check the distance to the backsplash and nearby accessories. Do not assume the handles can be installed in a different orientation unless the instructions permit it.

If the selected model includes a side sprayer, confirm its mounting hole, hose arrangement and position relative to your normal work area. Check that the hose can move below the sink without catching on the drain or stored items. A sprayer pictured with one version may not be included with another.

Complete the specification check before ordering

  • Model number, finish and included components.
  • Hole count, diameter, center spacing and deck thickness.
  • Outlet reach and height, plus handle and swivel clearance.
  • Supply connection specifications and a suitable hose route.
  • Access for installation, cleaning and future service.

Use the WOWOW installation instructions alongside the selected kitchen faucet listing. If a measurement is missing, contact WOWOW with the model number and your sink sketch. Confirming these details is more useful than relying on a general ranking of bridge faucets.
