How to Choose a Faucet for a Farmhouse Sink
A farmhouse sink, also called an apron-front sink, has a large, deep basin and a front panel that extends past the counter. Because these sinks are larger and deeper, they need a faucet with good reach and clearance.
What to Look For
- Tall spout: A high-arc or gooseneck spout clears large pots easily.
- Long reach: The spout should extend far enough into the sink, especially on wide farmhouse sinks.
- Pull-down spray head: Makes rinsing and cleaning the deep basin easier.
- Durable finish: Choose a PVD finish or another high-quality coating.
Mounting Considerations
Most farmhouse sinks use a standard deck-mounted faucet. If your sink has no faucet holes, you may need a wall-mount faucet or a countertop-mounted faucet installed behind the sink.
